Not every case that commences formally at the Manitoba Court of King’s Bench requires resolution through a lengthy and expensive trial process. There are important options available to individuals who are prepared to resolve a dispute (Civil, Family, Commercial, Estate) through a mediation or arbitration process. This usually means that both parties will need to be flexible in their expectations. The process is referred to as Judicially Assisted Dispute Resolution (JADR).

Our office recommends dispute resolution in appropriate cases where we recognize that our client and the opposing party are prepared to resolve their dispute. The resolution is never perfect but it is time efficient and less expensive. The reference to expense includes both financial cost and the emotional stress that rests with the uncertainty of trial.
